What You Will Study

At Easton College, the Level 2 Sport course aims to progress and promote students to make advances in their English and Maths, as well as the vocation of Sport. The course is aimed at capturing the essential skills of managing self; managing relationships with others; and managing own learning, performance and work. It is these skills that will enable young people to enter work and adult life confident and capable.

Students will study a Level 2 Certificate in Sport and are likely to cover the following units:

  • Anatomy and physiology (Exam)
  • Fitness Training (Exam)
  • Practical Sport Performance
    *Sport Performer in Action
  • Leading Sports Activities
    *The Mind and Sport Performance
  • Lifestyle and Wellbeing
  • Sport Injury

This qualification will give you a good understanding and knowledge of the sports and active leisure sector as well as developing the essential skills required for employment or progression to further qualifications and training. Your team work and communication skills will be developed through course activities, both of which are key skills future employers look for.

Good English and Maths skills are essential for many jobs and courses you will progress onto. The Government has made it a priority for students to improve these skills and your course programme will reflect this key aim. Depending on your grades when you start your course, you could either study Functional Skills or GCSEs alongside the other parts of your course programme. Please check our English and Maths page for further information.
