Summary
This course is designed for all abilities . It is a practical course where you will get to take home your design each week as well as learn how to care for your flowers. All designs will be demonstrated step by step in a relaxed setting. Each week you will be taught flower and foliage identification, care and conditioning information, as well as tips and tricks of the floristry industry.
This course will give you the confidence and knowledge to have fun with flowers. The first week of your course the college will provide all materials required for your first session only and will then give you a list of flowers and sundries (if applicable) for the remaining weeks of your course.
The course details are as follows;
Week 1 - Floral Arrangement - college to supply all materials for a floral arrangement in Bio-foam.
Week 2 - Hand Tied Aqua Pack/Bow Making - Learn the skill of hand tying flowers to create self-standing aqua packed design.
Week 3 - Buttonholes and Corsages - Techniques used including wired, binding and glued.
Week 4 - Basket/Container Arrangement - Choice to bring a basket or a containers to create a design of your choice.
Week 5 - Vase Arrangement - Using wire mesh to create a natural vase design.
Week 6 - Contemporary Design - Using modern techniques with a design to give a contemporary look.
please note the course content may differ slightly depending on the time of year the course runs, group abilities and resource of different flowers/organic materials.
You will need to bring floristry scissors with you.
