What You Will Study

This course is a great opportunity for anyone looking to build their confidence and ability in the garden, whether you're a beginner or someone with a little experience who wants to take their skills to the next level. Designed with enthusiastic amateurs in mind, it offers a supportive and practical learning environment where you can explore the fundamentals of gardening at your own pace.

Over the duration of the course, you’ll gain hands-on experience working in a range of garden settings, giving you the chance to apply what you learn in real-life situations. From soil preparation and planting techniques to basic maintenance tasks and seasonal care, you’ll develop a strong foundation in core horticultural practices. Alongside practical activities, you’ll also build an understanding of plant care, garden planning, and the importance of sustainability in modern gardening.

This course is particularly well-suited for those who are considering taking their passion further—whether that means volunteering in a public or private garden or or even starting a pathway into the horticulture industry. You’ll leave with not only new skills but also the confidence to use them in meaningful and rewarding ways.

Classes take place once a week, on Tuesdays, at our Easton College site.
