Come and see our leaping Leap Year lambs

Students and staff at Easton College are springing into action to introduce our new Leap Year lambs to the public at our ever-popular lambing weekend.
Members of the public are invited to visit the new-born lambs and their mothers at the event, which this year takes place across the Leap Year weekend, Saturday 29th February to Sunday 1st March.
Lambing Weekend attractions
So far this year, students from the college have already helped with the births of 180 lambs – with more than a hundred arrivals still due.
If you’re lucky, you may catch a new-born taking its first steps, as well as enjoying the delightful sight of some of this year’s earlier arrivals playfully leaping in the college’s fields.
As well as lambs and sheep, visitors will also be able to meet calves, pigs and chicks on the college’s working farm, which is situated within its 200-hectare estate. There will also be tractor and trailer rides, as well as children’s activities.
Working farm helps train next generation of farmers
The farm at Easton College provides invaluable practical learning for students on courses including Agriculture, Animal Management, and Land-based Studies.
During lambing season, students learn about all aspects of rearing sheep and lambs, from their dietary and nutritional requirements, to the wider welfare of the animals, as well as learning about the financial side of this important part of many farming businesses.

Easton College’s Lambing Weekend takes place on Saturday 29th February and Sunday 1st March, from 10am – 4pm each day.
Tickets bought in advance cost £5 for adults (or £6 when bought on the day), £2 for children, and Under 5's are free. Online booking at www.easton.ac.uk/lambing-weekend.
